This course is for beginners who want a fun and effective way to grasp and explore the fundamentals. It was developed for teenagers interested in filmmaking to understand how to use their phones of DSLR cameras.

We start with the basics: how to compose your image.

Then we go into depth of field, F-Stops, lighting, speed and focus.

Finally, once you have captured your image, we will move to the fun side of photography... editing.

By the end of this course, you’ll not only have a working knowledge of photography, but be able to tell a story with your image.

You can drop into the weekly Zoom session anytime to ask more questions or share your photos. These sessions will also be recorded and a link posted on the Padlet page. You must register for the Zoom sessions on Padlet.

I've been a writer, director and producer for film, TV and theatre for over 20 years. My films have been accepted into Academy (Oscar) accredited film festivals globally. I'm also an Australian Writers' Guild nominated writer for two film scripts.

I'm a six-time International Stevies® Award winner for my online education courses. I created this basic photography course for my film students to better understand lens and composition for their short films. It also allowed them to use a DSLR cameras to shoot their films and give a professional look and feel.

It doesn't matter your age, everyone is welcome. The course is captioned and transcribed to make it accessible.

I also run a weekly Zoom session where you can ask me any questions and I'll do my best to answer them.
